I really liked the Strokes first release, liked the second album, but this is very diffcult to listen to. To each their own, but I am pretty sure these songs would benefit from liittle to no autotune. That can't be scrubbed out though, right....

His / their last 4 albums have been release at DR8.
I guess he discovered the big, dirty knob marked EVEN F'N' LOUDER.
DR5 is atrocious. Is it down to ego or insecurity? What does he have left to prove? Considering Tom Petty's music was archived in audiophile quality (before he died), this mastering quality is sadly inadequate.

The story of the Loudness War is often told through dramatic before-and-after examples, but sometimes it creeps in so gradually that we barely notice it.
Willie Nelson’s older 1970s albums, including Yesterday’s Wine (DR14) and Red Headed Stranger (DR12), were highly dynamic recordings.
His later albums reveal a steady, almost imperceptible erosion of dynamic range—a textbook example of how the Loudness War can advance incrementally rather than all at once.
